Paul Basha, Director of Region 3 for the Meridian Enterprise’s Board of Directors has announced his retirement, effective April 30, 2024. Representing North and South Carolina, Paul’s wisdom has been a tremendous asset to the Board and his legacy of faith, family, and service will continue to be an example for current and future leaders in the organization.
After graduating from Clemson University in 1989 with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Paul began his co-op career as a Planning Engineer at York Electric Cooperative. He earned a promotion to Manager of Engineering in 1993 and, in 2003, was named CEO. His cooperative serves 70,000 members and is consistently among the highest ranked organizations on the American Satisfaction Score Index.
To Paul, service is simply a way of life. Over the years, through his dedication to service, Paul has made a meaningful impact on a wide range of causes including supporting local community initiatives, advocating for social justice issues, promoting education access for all, and providing aid in humanitarian crises around the world. His commitment knows no bounds, and he will no doubt continue to lend a helping hand wherever one is needed.
Paul’s dedication and passion for promoting Meridian’s mission in South Carolina and throughout the Southeast has been truly exceptional. His leadership and commitment have made a lasting impact on our organization, and he will be deeply missed. Congratulations on your retirement, Paul.
