SEDC and Futura Systems were recently honored by CIOReview, being named one of the “20 Most Promising GIS Solution Providers” for 2016.
As the engineering arm of SEDC, Futura provides GIS tools that positively affect the entire utility – from operations to consumer services, from field crews to customer service representatives, and from dispatchers to C-level management. CIOReview recognizes that an enterprise approach to GIS integration benefits every utility’s main goal: to provide superb service to their consumers while increasing efficiency for their employees.
With Futura’s FieldPro application, field crews can manage outages and facilitate disaster recovery, work inspections, and perform crucial mapping functions in real time, which means the utility’s CIS and BIS contain the most accurate information available at all times. For the utility, this means the rapid distribution of information. For the consumers, this means rapid answers to their questions, questions that can come in a frenzy during outages.
CIOReview also highlighted Futura’s new Indigo operations management solution, which will enable utilities to efficiently organize all of their different operations, including Jobs, Work Orders, Service Orders, Assets, Projects, Inspections, and more.
After launching FieldPro for full release in 2015, over 25% of Futura’s customers began using the mobile-centric solution within the first 6 months, with continuing growth putting FieldPro on a path to reach 50% of the customer base in 2017. While Indigo is still in preview mode through the end of 2016, there is already significant demand from Futura’s customer base for this new ops management tool, and the company expects it to follow a similar adoption rate to FieldPro as it goes into general release in 2017.
