SEDC extends a warm welcome to Kentucky Municipal Energy Agency and is thrilled to have KYMEA join the Family of Companies.
In 2015, ten municipal electric utilities serving eleven communities entered into an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement creating the Kentucky Municipal Energy Agency (KYMEA), a joint public agency. The utilities formed KYMEA to control decisions about their communities’ energy costs and ensure reliable sources of power and to facilitate effective collaboration among its members.
KYMEA exists to serve its members. The business model objective of KYMEA is to provide cost-effective resources and services for the benefit of its members to enable them to achieve objectives they have set for themselves more efficiently and at lower costs than they could achieve individually.
