The Meridian Enterprise welcomes Chad Lowder as the newest member of the Board of Directors, who succeeds Paul Basha as Region 3 Director.
Chad brings more than two decades of successful cooperative experience with a broad range of responsibilities, including Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance and Accounting, Member Services, Marketing, Economic Development, and Government Relations. He currently serves as the CEO of Tri- County Electric Cooperative (TCE) in St. Matthews, SC, keenly leveraging his knowledge and experiences to meet the challenges facing today’s utilities.
During his tenure at TCE, Chad successfully negotiated with the City of Orangeburg Department of Public Utilities and SCE&G to bring 400 acres of unassigned territory into TCE’s service area. This resulted in the development of the Tri-County Global Industrial Park, a 380-acre rail-served site with full utilities. Additionally, he oversaw the creation of a fiber subsidiary that now serves approximately 10,000 Members with dependable, high-speed data and telephone service.
Chad actively contributes to the industry as a Board officer for Central Electric Cooperative and The Electric Cooperative of South Carolina. He also plays a key role on the NRECA’s Legislative Committee and represents South Carolina on the Resolution Committee.
As a Meridian Director, he is dedicated to bringing the authentic grassroots perspective of a rural cooperative to the fold. With a focus on leveraging technology to improve operations and service delivery, his valuable contributions will play a key role in shaping our pursuit of excellence at the Meridian Enterprise.
