“For the past 21 years, Thom Sutherland has faithfully served our organization. Over the years, he has contributed to nearly every department across our Enterprise, most recently serving as our Chief Financial Officer,” shares CEO Chris Haas. “With great respect and appreciation, I now announce his retirement, effective May 31, 2024.”
In addition to his time as CFO, Thom has also led Learning & Development, Implementation, Product Support, Business Development, Relationship Management, and Arista during his tenure. He has watched this company change and grow over time, starting with a small regional footprint in the southeast to one that serves Members/Customers in 41 different states.
Thom first came to know our company as a Member when he worked as the VP/Administrative Services/CFO at Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative. He described the way our staff would “swarm” problems until they discovered a solution. There was incredible joy in their work, which led him to join our team in October 2002.
Most importantly, Thom is someone who cares deeply about our company and our people. Kind and authentic, he is quick to express appreciation and gratitude. Thank you, Thom for serving with heart for more than two decades. We appreciate the countless hours you have contributed to this company, and know great things await you in your next chapter.
