New USPS Delivery Standards Announced

On October 1, 2021, the U.S. Postal Service updated its service standards for First-Class Mail® (FCM) and Periodicals. These new service standards may increase delivery time consistency and efficiency for some across the country.

For most, there will be no change in delivery times. Mainly, these new standards are an update to the structure in how the USPS measures on-time delivery. Those more than 931 – 1,907 miles from the mail entry point are now in the 4-day delivery area, and beyond 1,908 miles are in the 5-day delivery area. Both ranges were considered 3-day delivery areas in the contiguous U.S. The 2-day delivery area has been reduced to within 139 miles of the entry point.

Please be aware of any potential changes to your delivery times, so that you may reach your partnering vendors, customers/members, and vice versa in a timely manner. To read more detailed information about these new USPS service standards, click here.
